Biography

Pedro Rivera was a French Franciscan friar who was born on September 3, 1912, in Valladolid, Spain. During the Spanish Civil War, he was killed in 1936 in Barcelona, along with friars Alfonso Lopez, Modesto Vegas, Dionisio Vicente, Francisco Remón, and Miguel Remón. In 2001, Pope John Paul II approved his beatification, along with 233 other martyrs.
