Biography
Bernardo Vaz Lobo Teixeira de Vasconcelos, O.S.B. (São Romão do Corgo, Celorico de Basto, July 7, 1902 – Foz do Douro, July 4, 1932), better known as Friar Bernardo de Vasconcelos, was a mystical poet and Benedictine monk who, despite passing away just days before turning 30, left behind an important body of Catholic-inspired poetry. He was the author of several books, one of which, Cântico de Amor, was published on the very day of his death.
