Biography

Bartolomeu Fanti was an Italian Carmelite friar who belonged to the Mantuan Congregation. For 35 years, he served as spiritual director and rector of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in his hometown. Humble and gentle, he was an example to all of a life of prayer, generosity, and faithfulness in the service of God. He was also distinguished by his love for the Eucharist, the center of his apostolic life, and by his devotion to Our Lady. The decree confirming his cult was ratified by Pope Pius X on March 18, 1909. His feast day is celebrated on December 5.
