Biography

Andoche was a priest and disciple of Polycarp of Smyrna (modern-day Izmir in Anatolia, formerly Asia Minor, in western Turkey) who came to evangelize Gaul with the deacon Thyrsus, Saint Benignus, and Saint Andeolus. He suffered martyrdom for his faith in 177 or 178 in the town of Saulieu in the Côte-d'Or department of the Morvan.
