Biography

Adalberto of Como (died 7th century) was an Italian bishop of Illyrian origin. He was the fifteenth bishop of Como and is venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church. According to Paolo Giovio, he was originally from Illyria. He governed the diocese during the early years of Lombard rule, when they were pillaging the towns of the upper lake, with particular reference to Samolaco and the Oratory of San Fedele.
