Biography
Sidi Abdellah ben Ahmed Khalid ben Hassoun (1515 in Fez – 1604 in Salé) is, alongside Sidi Ben Acher al-Andaloussi, Sidi Ahmed Hajji, and Sidi Ahmed Turki, one of the principal saints of Salé. He is the patron saint of the city. The ancient Hassouni family of Salé is affiliated with him. His mausoleum is among the most beautiful and venerated in the city and houses the candles for the Mawlid procession. A school in Sala Al-Jadida bears his name.
